Network Support Technician

Globalvest Trading is seeking a Network Support Technician that is currently pursuing, or has recently graduated with, a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related discipline. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that is eager to progress, with sound technical knowledge combined with exceptional communication skills. Taking an enthusiastic and proactive approach to learning the latest technologies, systems and best practices will be key factors to success. Proven problem solving skills and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously will set you apart from the crowd. As a member of our team, the right person will be trained on how to deploy complex network and client setups, and install and support client-side hardware and software configurations.

What We Look For

• Experience in networking, understanding TCP/IP, DNS, Tunneling, Multicast, etc.
• Experience in configuring Cisco switches and Cisco routers.
• Experience in Cisco protocols such as: OSPF, BGP etc.
• Experience with Linux and Windows 7 systems (installation and maintenance).
• Minimum 2 years of experience as System Administrator.
• Ability to solve network problems.
• Ability to document and write procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot Network issues (Routers, Switches and lines)
• Troubleshoot Servers
• Troubleshoot in-house software
• Installation of new servers (Windows & Linux)
• Perform end-user training
• Maintain and manage production equipment (trading stations, servers, switches etc)
• Support production environment 24/6 [Sunday 23:00 – Friday 23:00]
• Working in shifts: 7:00-15:00 / 15:00-23:00 / 23:00-07:00
• At least 2 morning/noon shifts + one night shift per week – Can be relevant for students

User Interface Developer

We are seeking a UI Developer to join our team. The UI Developer will be responsible for developing innovative and sophisticated trading systems with emphasis on the frontend application and user interface. The UI Developer will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from design to testing to deployment to support. Successful candidates will have excellent analytical problem solving skills and creative design abilities. You must be comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment and working with a dynamic, collaborative development team.

Responsibilities:

• Design easy-to-use, high performance user interfaces using WPF, XNA and other technologies.
• Design, implement, and debug complex, multi-threaded desktop applications
• Responsible for understanding requirements, developing, testing and releasing applications.
• Adherence to development process (Specifically scrum, an agile method)
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance to test software releases
• Provide support to traders for in-development software
• Keep learning about new technologies and how Globalvest can use them.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate Computer Science or related degree
• Self-starter who is able to get things done with minimal direction
• Strong experience with object oriented programming, including experience in an object oriented language. Experience in C# is a plus.
